Default Bad day on the water.

Thought I would share this with you guys. I'll start by saying I just purchased my first boat probably 2 months ago. I didn't grow up boating but have always wanted to get into it. I have probably been out 6 times.

Yesterday I called up some friends and the wife and I went out for a day of knee boarding and cruising around in our 19' fish and ski with another couple. Everything is great and we decide to anchor and swim for a bit and relax. An hour later I go to crank the engine and it turns over and then quickly dies. So I figure I need to prime the bulb I do so and nothing, it won't even turn over :-(

After about 15 mins of struggle. Taking the cover off and trying to pull start, embarrassment, no success, I put the trolling motor in and make it to a nearby shoreline. Flag down a passing boater and bum a tow in.

I get to the marina and the guy that puts the boats in storage says try starting it and see what happens. Turned over once and died. He hopped in and started it right up. "I thought it sounded flooded" he said. " just needed to wait a while and then give it lots of throttle to start it"

I guess I'm just happy I don't have to sink a bunch of money into repairs but it sure was a bunch of egg on my face!
