Default Favorite Lure

Everyone has a go-to lure or presentation they just feel comfortable with...

We all know that 'knowing your going to catch a fish' is more important than pretty much anything else anyway, so confidence in a bait is huge.

Personally it's a spinner bait for me when i'm after bass, white and red with dual silver willow blades...i can cover a lot of ground and usually get lots of bites...

if it's a slow day, whenever i get a bite i might slow it down in that area and run some plastics to see if there are any others hanging around but not interested in chasing that fast spinner.

What's your go-to bait, and for what type of fish?

Spinner bait for numbers, jig and pig for size. Water clarity will decide what color.

For bass I use a spinner or tube jig, I'll only use a tube jig when they're on their beds and I also use a leader on it with 14 lb. test because the muskies are cruising the shore line for spawning also.

Rapala crankbaits are what I use the most and the rebel craws. Ill throw out a spinner every now and then but I never have much luck with them.

I've always had success with Daredevil Red/White spoons. I think I've had 10-15 of them over the years. At present time I am spoon free thanks to a couple trees last season. I need to make a trip to the store!
