to tournament guys

Hey I fishing in Illinois mostly small ponds near orland ( try to stay away from tampier), the des plains river and the kankakee river. I'm just curious what are some tips for someone who wants to go into the tourney fishing ? I'm working on my jig fishing and learning the time and place to crankbait. But overall I'm pretty balanced and do reasonabley well. Tips ideas ? Anyone who fishes near the areas I said feel free to pm me I'm always interested in trying good spots

What do you have against Tampier?

Honestly nothing really iv caught a nice 2 pound cat from there :-) and the boats are fun but the pressure it gets is f****** ridiculous and I have yet to run into a single person who will tell me a positive thing about it I heard crappie fishing can be good there but 9/10 including myself will not recommend that lake
