Default best small mouth lures and tactics

After hooking a few last summer I was hooked( didnt mean for the cheesy joke) so I plan on spending this summer hunting these guys. Got some hair jigs, smaller spinner baits, swim baits. I plan to try a few different things on the kankakee river. But input from smallie enthusiasts would be cool

Crankbaits, jigging spoons if there deep, soft plastic beavers(v&m slick beaver for clear water and reaction innovations sweet beaver), and also finesse jigs with any kind of chunk trailer tht matchs jig and water clarity, when im snallmouth fishing this is basically what i use. And in stained and clear water i somtimes use a float and fly

Also a swim jig with a zoom swimmin fluke trailer! Which is deadly for both large and smallmouth lures

For a hard plastic lure I like the Zara spoke the walking the dog action is great. For soft plastic I prefer berkley power worms (root-beer color) with a Texas rig (weedless hook and screw on weight).... If you are fishing on a lake nothing beats live shiners
