Just a heads up for SE LA fisherman.
If you want to bag some inshore reds or specks near the shore or in the big lakes (ponchartrain and borne), get 'em NOW. The army corps of engineers has already opened the Bonne Carre spillway and the Morganza spillway will be opened today. This will effectively end any chance of catching reds and specks anywhere between the mouth of the atchafalaya and the Louisiana/Mississippi state line. Good luck to anyone in the path of the Morganza. I know what it's like to come home to a house that's been in 11 feet of water.
