Default What size livebait and what livebait should i use for catching 1lb perch?

I can never kill the dead bait because I know The bigger fish don't like to chase their bait so much but how can I kill it and keep it in one piece
Thanks.

What are you using now? It really all depends. Out here in CA, meal worms have been working well. Just took my daughters out on Friday night actually. They had a blast.

I'm using lobworms, red worms, and red maggots to catch the smaller perch and I live in Wales and fish in still waters

And there and any pike in the lake I'm fishing so there's no need for a wire trace or anything and so the perch are the only predators

I just went out and fished navy pier in Chicago about 1lb is normal to big some days. The set up I used this weekend (me and a buddy literally landed 150+ in a few hours. The setups was ultra light rod with 8lb fluoro and 2lb leader. We had a slip bobber with a ice jig under it it wasn't knoted it just had line through the eyelet to let it slide up and down with a wax worm on it. After that was a swivel and another ice jig on bottom with a TINY swiming grub just jigging that I had some great action all day I cleaned them all and I'm ready to fry em up tonight mmmmm :-)
