Bait or lure. If lure I can't tell you what to use because it is totally depended on to many factors.

Gary Yamamoto Senko.

Grab some different colors and sizes.

Texas rig them without any weight on a 1/0-3/0 offset shank worm hook.

Toss it into cover that will hold bass and let it sink on slack line...but watch the line carefully. Any tick, or tightening, or movement, reel up slack and set the hook. If nothing happens in 20 seconds or so after it hits the bottom, raise the rod tip and let it fall again.

This will absolutely catch bass in pretty much any body of water.

Senko hands down! When you lift the rodtip, just barely lift enough to move the bait an inch or two, my biggest bass have gone for twitches so small that I still had slack line

Am I the only one who uses a tube on here? I use those with a 1/4 oz sinker hook and I slay Smallmouth and Largemouth.

I tottaly agree with the senko all sizes and colors have caught me some very big bass, it also works great in really clear water when the fish tend to get spooked more easily.
